Privacy notice
Last updated: 26 October 2026
Who we are
Vokundo (vokundo.com) is a product of SAT Consulting Ltd, which trades as SATCon (satcon.co.nz). In this notice, "we" and "us" mean SAT Consulting Ltd. We are responsible for the personal information described here.
We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and, where they apply to you, the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation.
What we collect on this website
Early-access sign-up: your name, email address, business name, industry and country, and the language of the page you used.
Contact form: your name, email address and message.
Technical information: like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, so that the site can be delivered and protected from abuse. We use your IP address briefly to limit repeated form submissions.
This website sets no cookies and uses no advertising or cross-site tracking.
What the Vokundo service will collect
Vokundo answers phone calls, handles enquiries and manages bookings for small businesses. When a business uses Vokundo, we process information about the business and about its customers on the business's behalf: names, phone numbers, email addresses, service addresses, booking and job details, quotes, invoices, messages, call recordings where the business enables them, and call transcripts.
For the customers of a business, that business decides why their information is collected and is responsible for it; we act as its service provider and use the information only to provide Vokundo to that business.
Callers are told at the start of a call that they are speaking with an AI assistant, and whether the call is recorded.
How we use it
To run the early-access list and invite you when Vokundo is ready; to reply to your messages; to provide, secure and improve the Vokundo service; to send the booking confirmations, reminders and approval requests a business has set up; and to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Text messages (SMS)
Vokundo sends text messages only for transactional purposes: booking confirmations and reminders to a business's customers, and approval requests to business owners. We do not send marketing texts.
You receive these texts because you gave your mobile number when booking with a business that uses Vokundo, or when you signed up to Vokundo as a business owner. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving them, or HELP for help.
We do not share mobile numbers or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run Vokundo, under contracts that restrict how they may use your information. Today, this website is hosted by Vercel and its data is stored by Neon, in Sydney, Australia.
When the Vokundo service launches it will also use providers for telephony and text messages, voice and AI processing, and email. We will name them in this notice before they process any personal information. Where providers offer settings that keep data out of AI model training, we use them.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of people using Vokundo.
Where it is stored
Data for businesses in New Zealand and Australia is stored in Australia. Data for businesses in the European Union will be stored in the European Union. Some providers may process information in other countries; when that happens we use contracts and safeguards that protect it to the standard the law requires.
How long we keep it
Early-access sign-ups: until Vokundo opens to you, or until you ask us to remove you. Contact messages: up to two years. Service data: for as long as the business uses Vokundo, then deleted or anonymised, except records such as invoices that the law requires us to keep.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to object to or restrict how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere.
To make a request, use the contact page at vokundo.com/contact. We will reply within 20 working days. If your information was collected by a business that uses Vokundo, we may pass your request to that business.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand (privacy.org.nz), the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or the data protection authority where you live.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and separation between the data of different businesses. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice as Vokundo develops, and change the date at the top when we do. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will tell you before it takes effect.
